As !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I bought my latest ride last November, used, and I've been dealing with "quirks" of this vehicle since.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Stickers are just cosmetic thorns in my side and the car stereo was a fun upgrade but I dealt with my biggest safety concern today: removing poorly applied film from the rear windows and rear quarter glass.
By "poorly applied" I mean it was rippled:
Since I bought the car at a dealer, I can only assume this was road legal but, as I was taught to ask in flight school: "What would the accident report say?"
" Pilot Driver had an obstructed view due to poorly applied window tinting resulting in his attempt to merge with traffic prior to conflicting traffic clearing; car written off."
No thanks!

Detour into meteorological geekery
The weather lately has been varied; I live at 45-degrees north latitude, the boundary of two air-masses. (likely continental polar and continental tropic at this time of year IIRC) If there's any interaction between these air-masses, we could find ourselves in either of them - or even both, at different times of day.
Yesterday: +14°C (57°F), clear skies, sunny, gorgeous.
I woke up today to this:
-4°C (25°F) and snow. Yup, we're in the colder air-mass today, the snow the result of the cold-front passing over.
By about noon, two things had happened:
The temperature had risen above freezing,
I'd had enough of Netflix.
Time to get the show on the road.

Applying the same logic as with the previous sticker removal, and with thanks to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for his comments on tint removal in my last post, I boiled a few quarts of water and shuttled back and forth to the car, pouring the water on the outside of the window to heat up the glue.
Starting the edge with the razor, the rest just peeled off and the razor took care of what little glue residue was left, with the Goo-Gone acting as a combined "cutting oil" and solvent, leaving little glue blobs on the razor.
Window film being peeled. (note lack of snow in background)
Final result:
Bonus: I had the 12-volt auxiliary audio input and USB port installed where the cigarette lighter was, running to the back of the new stereo:

For the life of me, I can't figure out why they even bothered with the tint!
The film was almost transparent, with the stock glass having more of a tint.

Oh, that's an eBay find!
The specific one I bought is this, from a USA-based seller:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2213417510…
If you don't mind waiting longer for shipping, you can save a few dollars buying from China:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Dashbo…
It's made of molded, soft plastic/hard rubber and the cords on the one I bought were 2-meters (about 6 feet) long but there are others on eBay with 1-meter/3-foot cables.
They all seem to come with a bunch of accessories such as the angled surface mount, retaining rings and a rubber cap.

Did you remove tint or the glue? When you remove tint and leave behind the glue it looks wavy sometimes like in the 1/4 windows.

Both. Film came off relatively easily, leaving glue behind. The ripples were in both the glue and film.

Nice!
I didn't measure the temperature of the windows but there wasn't much glue residue left so I'd imagine it was somewhere in the range of what these fellows suggested.
